# Coronet Peak > Coronet Peak is a ski area operated by NZSki, 20 minutes from central Queenstown in New Zealand's Southern Lakes. It has been Queenstown's closest ski field since 1947. In winter it offers skiing and snowboarding for all abilities, lessons and rentals, night skiing under lights, First Tracks early-morning access, and an early-season opening backed by its Snow Factory snowmaking. In summer the mountain runs lift-accessed mountain biking, sightseeing and snow play. It serves first-timers and families, season-pass holders, and visitors from New Zealand and Australia. Prices are in NZD. The winter season runs roughly June to early October, with an earlier limited opening from late May enabled by the Snow Factory. Summer activities operate as a separate season.
